ABOUT  FPS

The First Presbyterian Church Day School, established in 1960, has a rich history of providing children with a Christian education. At the heart of our mission is the commitment to nurturing each child in a supportive and caring environment.

We prioritize several key values:

  1. Academic Excellence: We believe in building a strong academic foundation for our students. Through individual attention and small class sizes, we ensure that each child receives the necessary support to excel in their studies.

  2. Diversity and Inclusion: Our school community embraces diversity and welcomes students and families from all backgrounds. We believe that diversity enriches the educational experience and fosters a sense of understanding and acceptance among our students.

  3. Holistic Growth: Beyond academics, we are dedicated to fostering the holistic growth of our students. This includes spiritual development, creativity, social skills, and civic engagement. We aim to prepare students not only for academic success but also for a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Tailored Curriculum

In pursuit of our educational goals, we utilize carefully selected curricula tailored to the needs of each age group. For our 1- and 2-year-olds, we implement "Beyond Cribs and Rattles," designed to provide a stimulating and nurturing environment for early development. Our preschool program follows "Beyond Centers and Circle Time," offering a comprehensive approach to early childhood education.

For our four-year-old students, we employ the "Pre-K On My Way" curriculum by Scholastics. This curriculum is designed to prepare children for kindergarten by focusing on essential skills and concepts in a fun and engaging manner.

At First Presbyterian School, we are committed to providing a high-quality education rooted in Christian values, preparing our students to become confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.
